Required educational certificates, transcripts, credential evaluation, and work experience documentation for visa applications.
Educational Documents and Work Experience
Visa applications require thorough proof of your education and professional experience. Here is everything you need to know about preparing these critical documents.
Educational Documents Required
University degree certificate (original and certified copy)
Academic transcripts showing all subjects, grades, and credit hours
Professional certifications and licences relevant to your occupation
Vocational training certificates
Language test results (IELTS, TOEFL, Goethe, DELE, etc.)
Any additional qualifications (diplomas, continuing education certificates)
Document Authentication
Depending on your destination country, you may need:
Apostille certification: Required for countries that are members of the Hague Apostille Convention. This is a simplified form of document legalisation. Obtained from your country's designated authority (usually Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
Embassy legalisation: For countries not in the Hague Convention, documents must be legalised through the destination country's embassy in your country.
Certified translations: Official translations into the destination country's language or English by a sworn or certified translator. Each page must be stamped and signed by the translator.
Credential evaluation: Some countries require your degree to be evaluated by a recognised body:
UK: UK ENIC (formerly NARIC)
Germany: anabin database or KMK evaluation
Netherlands: Nuffic evaluation
General: WES (World Education Services) is accepted by many countries
